A dryer is a mechanical device that uses heat energy to reduce the moisture content of materials, used for drying objects. The dryer heats the material to vaporize and release the moisture (generally water or other volatile liquid components) to obtain a solid material with a specified moisture content. The purpose of drying is to meet the needs of material use or further processing. Based on operating pressure, dryers are divided into two categories: atmospheric pressure dryers and vacuum dryers. According to operating pressure, they can be further divided into atmospheric pressure dryers and vacuum dryers (vacuum dryers are also called vacuum dryers). The entry also details adsorption dryers, refrigerated dryers, and microwave dryers.

On March 9, 2025, it was announced that the largest high-density polyethylene (HDPE) steam pipe dryer in China, designed and manufactured by Tianhua Institute, a subsidiary of Sinochem, for a client's polyethylene project, officially rolled off the production line. It can meet the supporting needs of a 300,000-ton HDPE production line.
